Dr Abdulaziz Gheit
Experimental Officer
Dr Abdulaziz Gheit is an experimental officer at EIC with a background in mechanical engineering and specialises in heat transfer within thermo-fluid systems. He is deeply passionate about experimental research and possesses extensive experience in supporting the design, development, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, maintenance, service, and repair of experimental research equipment, ranging from laboratory to pilot scale. Over the years, He consistently delivered comprehensive, professional, and high-quality technical and research support across various types of equipment.
He conducts high-quality experiments and scientific research to generate applied research outputs for industrial partners and contributes to both journal and conference publications. His experience extends to broader research outcomes, having worked in diverse engineering sectors, including the oil and gas and cellular telephony industries worldwide.
In 2020, Abdul joined EIC to support experimental pilot-scale research facilities focused on low- and zero-carbon technologies, such as bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), carbon capture, and hydrogen fuel switching. He possesses strong theoretical and practical knowledge of carbon capture, BECCS, and hydrogen fuel switching systems, with a capability to assist in the design, development, and construction of low- and zero-carbon energy plants. He has substantial experience in economically capturing carbon from gas, coal, and biomass combustion, as well as post-combustion carbon capture and the utilization of CO2 to produce jet fuel.
Recently, he has taken on shared responsibilities to develop hydrogen and zero-carbon fuel combustion facilities at EIC, focusing on the research and experimentation of hydrogen as an industrial fuel for decarbonization. His colleagues recognize him as a confident leader who effectively addresses even the most challenging and complex problems to achieve successful experimental research projects.
