Tom is an Assistant Engineering Technician whose current role includes a variety of tasks across the EIC, ranging from FLT operations to electrical wiring and CAD modelling.

His current responsibilities are 3D printing, SAF-IC lab support, IT and electrical related work. Monthly inspections and testing of respiratory protection equipment along the management of the sites gas cylinder stock are also some of his main duties.

Tom has previous experience as a mechanical maintenance engineer at the AMRC training centre, undertaking an apprenticeship, and in the steel industry, working with lathes, power tools and other workshop equipment. Tom studied machining and engineering design at school and has a lot of interest in electrical, IT and fluid power systems.
